Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. World Tour Golf Resort #105 - Golf Course Front has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
