Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Royale Palms 2305 Elegant Oceanview w\/Pool & Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
