Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Royale Palms 2305 Elegant Oceanview w\/Pool & Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
