Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Wow, Newley Renovated 16th Floor Views Nice Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
