Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. 3rd-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - snowbirds welcome has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
