Tips to get the best rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Relax with our Ravishing 1BR Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
