Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Gorgeous, Spacious Direct Oceanfront 2Br\/2Ba At Atlantica Resort Phase 3 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
