Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Charming Gateway OF 3BR Condo 14th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
