Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront View, High Floor, Heated Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
