Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 9th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review.
