Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Choosing the best rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Hidden Gem View - Oceanview Mini Suite 3rd Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
