Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New Penthouse! Oceanfront, Heated Pools, TOP Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
