How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. New Penthouse! Oceanfront, Heated Pools, TOP Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
