Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Ocean View King Suite + Onsite Pool has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
