Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Three Bedroom Condo 12th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
