How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Elegant Space: Jr Cabana Ste Oceanfront 2nd Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
