How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Stunning Oceanview Penthouse Dogs OK has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
