Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the rightrental:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1037 Azure Bliss. Oceanfront Condo. Sleeps 6. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
