Rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 1037 Azure Bliss. Oceanfront Condo. Sleeps 6. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
