Our top Rental home tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 10th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
