How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • First, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanview and steps to the beach pool kitchen TV has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
