Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 12th-floor oceanfront condo with WiFi, pools, hot tubs & gym - dog-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
