Our top Rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 12th-floor oceanfront condo with WiFi, pools, hot tubs & gym - dog-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
