Vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 12th-floor oceanfront condo with WiFi, pools, hot tubs & gym - dog-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
