Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 8th Floor Comfort in Ocean View Junior Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
