How to book the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 14th Floor Ocean View Junior Suite Beautiful Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
