Our top Rental home booking tips:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Spacious 2br 15th floor condo @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
