Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To book the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront condo on 14th-floor w\/ WiFi, shared pool\/hot tub, AC - snowbirds okay has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
