Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 1655 Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly Golf Cart????????????????????????? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
