Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sun Seeker Serenity: Oceanfront Suite 12th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
