Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 14th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, WiFi, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
