- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
