Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 1508 North Hampton @ Kingston Resorts has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
