Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Closest St. James Park Villa to Beach and Pool. 3 Full-Bath Master Suites has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
