Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 15th-floor oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub, W\/D, & AC - snowbird-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
