How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort Unit B240 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
