Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Pool, Balcony, Golf Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
