Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 15th-floor oceanfront condo with great views, hot tubs, pools, lazy river & gym has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, email the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
