Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:
- Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Luxurious King Suite with Oceanfront Views! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
