How to get the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing yourvacation home:

  • First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 16th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub, WiFi & gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
