Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New High Floor, Direct Sea Watch, King Bed, Decor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
