Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spectacular Oceanfront Views in the Cabana Section of Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
