How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the rightrental home:
- First, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 16th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
