Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 6th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
