How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
