Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect rental:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 7th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
