Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 3rd Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi, AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
