Booking the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 1980 Lark 2 bedroom 2 bath pier home - Catch The Breeze has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
