Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your family commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 1980 Lark 2 bedroom 2 bath pier home - Catch The Breeze has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
