Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Camelot Getaway Renovated in 2025 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
