Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 1st Floor, Corner Unit - Awesome Location! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
