How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the best rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C108 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
