Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C108 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
