Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 1st Floor Makes A Huge Difference -- Sit & Relax on Deck Overlooking Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
