Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:
- First, have your family choose dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 1st Floor Ocean View Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi, AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
