Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Villas Unit A110 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
