Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your group agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Forest Villas Unit A110 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
