Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Forest Villas Unit A110 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
