Booking the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. After Dune Delight has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
